Because of the Virginia Tech shootings by a student with mental health problems, there have been calls for more mental health screenings for youth. The National Institute of Mental Health has declared that 1 in 10 children suffers from a mental disorder severe enough to cause impairment.

Even before the shootings, a growing number of schools in the U.S. were screening students for psychological problems, and in some areas, all children of any age in foster care are to be screened. According to American Health Line, June 19, 2006, "one psychological evaluation system, TeenScreen, has been administered to more than 150,000 children in 42 states and the District of Columbia, and New York State plans to begin screening about 400,000 children a year." In previous Parts of this series, I have detailed the rather serious problems with TeenScreen.

One of the fundamental problems with mental health screenings is the question of one's religious beliefs. For example, in the DIAGNOSTIC AND STATISTICAL MANUAL OF MENTAL DISORDERS, IV (DSM) is "oppositional defiant disorder," which can include simply acting angry or refusing to obey. Then there is a section titled "Additional Conditions That May Be a Focus of Clinical Attention," under which is "Noncompliance With Treatment." It states that "the reasons for noncompliance may include...decisons based on personal value judgments or religious or cultural beliefs." So if you have been labeled as having "oppositional defiant disorder" and refuse treatment because of your religious beliefs, the DSM indicates you may need "clinical attention."

Regarding education, I mentioned in Part 34 that the State Early Childhood Comprehensive System (SECCS) screens for "developmental needs" (among other things) among "infants, toddlers and preschool children" as well as among students in schools. One individual assessing such youth could be the "certified parent educator" as part of the "Parents as Teachers" (PAT) program in many states. Each child in this program is assigned a computer code classification within a computer file that can follow the individual through life. The certified parent educator visits the home and school offering mental health and other services.

Once the child begins school, the power elite social controllers want to be sure that their religious values don't get in the way of what is planned for them. Relevant to this, on November 13, 2006, the "High Level Group of Eminent Personalities" as part of the U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan-convened "Alliance of Civilizations" issued its recommendations, among which was the following: "Guidelines and mechanisms should be established to ensure that religious schools are registered with authorities and that their curricula do not foster hatred of other communities."

Religious schools registering with the government and not fostering hatred (however government chooses to define that) aren't enough, though, as the U.S. Supreme Court on October 2, 2006, rejected an appeal by evangelical Christian students challenging a California 7th grade history course requirement. The students had to adopt rules as Muslims for 3 weeks using Muslim names, reciting Muslim prayers in class, and memorizing and reciting a passage from the Koran. What do you think would have happened if Muslim students had been required to become Christians and recite Christian prayers?

While the social controllers vigorously pursue alteration of students' values, they have been academically dumbing down the American student population. For example, before 1989, math was taught generally in a traditional manner, including memorizing multiplication tables, etc. At that time, U.S. students ranked first in international math tests, but since traditional math memorization was dropped in 1989, U.S. students have sunk to 15th in ranking. Think there's been any accountability for this disaster? No! In fact, those educators who have been ruining our schools are simply given more and more money each year. As Ronald Reagan said: "If you serve a child a rotten hamburger in America, federal, state and local agencies will investigate you, summon you, close you down, whatever. But if you provide a child with a rotten education, nothing happens, except that you're liable to be given more money to do it with."

The "Father of Progressive Education" which has been destroying our schools was John Dewey, who in the December 5, 1928 edition of THE NEW REPUBLIC wrote with approval about the Marxist Bolsheviks who were undermining the church and family in the USSR. Dewey desired Socialism in the U.S., and cultural Marxists Max Horkheimer and Theodor Adorno realized that it was the traditional family that had to be undermined to bring about a transformation of America. Igor Shafarevich's essay "Socialism in Our Past and Future (in his FROM UNDER THE REBEL, 1975) explains this in general.. Horkheimer in ECLIPSE OF REASON (1947) posited that all modern ills, including mental illness, resulted from oppression (primarily by the father) within the family. And Adorno in THE AUTHORITARIAN PERSONALITY (1950) said that those who emphasized their family, nation or race actually had a psychiatric disorder!

Adorno also theorized that an emphasis on fractious music could help destabilize societh. A quickening drumbeat can release an opiate in the brain, and sensuous sounds can cause people's hips to begin swaying almost involuntarily at concerts. This type of music is now even entering Christian churches! Why? The power elite understands that there's a spiritual component in each of us. Therefore, they don't try to destroy spirituality, but rather to shift it toward the pagan, which had music that caused people to go into a frenzy and engage in orgies. Kimberly Smith in MUSIC AND MORALS (2005) explains that this is about "control." Traditional music, including traditional Christian music, is characterized by self-control, but rock music, including Christian rock, causes a loss of self-control. This is what the power elite wants, because they can then control us, destroying our traditional moral values.

The power elite in pursuing its ultimate goal of a World Socialist Government has utilized the concept of mental health along with education to condition people for social control, even the killing of innocent individuals by euthanasia. The conditioning began in the 1930s, when Dewey and others signed the first HUMANIST MANIFESTO (1933). In 1936, Charles Edward Merriam (president of the Social Science Research Council) authored THE ROLE OF POLITICS IN SOCIAL CHANGE, in which he declared that "the human system may be reconditioned...through any one of a thousand minor manipulations, stimulations, gradations, which move silently and subtly to their appointed end. There are psychiatrists who drive out evil spirits; teachers who mold the mind....The strategy of control leans to the side of science rather than coercion...." Charles Francis Potter (who also signed the first HUMANIST MANIFESTO) in 1930 had written HUMANISM: A NEW RELIGION, in which he revealed that "Education is thus a most powerful ally of humanism. What can the theistic Sunday schools, meeting for an hour once a week, and teaching only a fraction of the children, do to stem the tide of a five-day program of humanistic teaching?"

Evolution began to be introduced into the public schools at this time, teaching that man was just a higher form of animal. Students were conditioned over decades to believe this, and therefore that human beings could be managed like animals. Abortion, infanticide and euthanasia thus were to be accepted. By 1968, even THE LADIES HOME JOURNAL in its October issue could publish "Death of a Son," in which one reads: "When his (Rev. Paul David Sholen) infant son was born retarded, this minister and his pediatrician agreed that the child should not be allowed to survive. You may call their decision murder. You may call it mercy...." That many Americans were willing to tolerate murder as "mercy" showed that the power elite's conditioning for social control had worked. Not long thereafter (1973), the U.S. Supreme Court declared that violently killing children before birth (abortion) was acceptable. And shortly thereafter (February 1974), "The Alethea Report" described a plan to make euthanasia acceptable. Two months later, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) in its April 1974 FOREIGN AFFAIRS published Richard Gardner's advocacy of "eroding national sovereignty piece-by-piece," as the power elite's goal was well on its way to fulfillment.

There was no great public outcry after Gardner's article. And the U.S. Senate, even many conservatives, voted overwhelmingly for Strobe Talbott to be number 2 at the State Department during Bill Clinton's presidency, even though Talbott had written in TIME (July 20, 1992) that "perhaps national sovereignty was not such a great idea after all" and "the case for world government" was "clinched." Similarly, there has been to date no great public outcry about former CFR chairman David Rockefeller's admission in his MEMOIRS (2002) that he's part of "a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States...conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure" (world government).

With such a complacent public, the power elite today feels free to move forward with its agenda of linking regional economic arrangements and their new currencies (e.g., the Euro in Europe, and the forthcoming Amero for the U.S., Canada and Mexico) so that they form a World Socialist Government. The latest movement on this front was published on May 23, 2007, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where that nation's Economics Minister Felisa Miceli announced that in October of this year, Argentina and Brazil will switch from the U.S. dollar to a new regional currency in their bilateral trade. Speaking in Paraguay at the Mercosur ministerial session, she also said that the new curency should eventually include Paraguay, Uruguay and Venezuela, as well as associate members of the Mercosur bloc.

Peter Drucker in his POST CAPITALIST SOCIETY (1993) wrote that the European Community ( which led to the European Union) "triggered the attempt to create a North American Economic Community, built around the United States, but integrating both Canada and Mexico into a common market. So far this attempt is purely economic in its goal, but it can hardly remain so in the long run." Currently, if one looks at Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS, with chairman Sen. Sam Nunn and trustees including Henry Kissinger, Zbigniew Brzezinski, William Cohen, and Richard Armitage) report, "North American Future 2025 Project," one sees that by September 30, 2007, CSIS will present a report to the White House and Congress on "the benefits of integrating the U.S., Mexico and Canada into one political, economic and security bloc," according to WorldNetDaily (May 24, 2007). In this regard, Armand Peschard-Sverdrup (director of CSIS' Mexico Project said: "The results of the study will enable policy makers to make sound, strategic, long-range policy decisions about North America with an emphasis on regional integration."

Unless the American people wake up and resist the power elite's control over their lives and goal of a World Socialist Government, it may soon be too late to reverse the course of events. Pray for God's help and guidance, and then take action, for THE HOLY BIBLE admonishes us to be "doers" and not just "hearers" of God's Holy Word.
