It is the inability to see the effects of chronic, low level toxicities on human health that has been, and remains, our greatest failing as intelligent beings.
Dr. Boyd Haley

One of the greatest alarm calls in human history has gone unnoticed for years and as such, the low levels of toxicities are moving higher. Even with the rising tide of reports of chemical pollution in human blood streams, among newborn babies and adults alike, we get reporters and medical officials dismissing concerns of chemical toxicity. The WallStreet Journal published last week, "For years, scientists have struggled to explain rising rates of some cancers and childhood brain disorders. Something about modern living has driven a steady rise of certain maladies, from breast and prostate cancer to autism and learning disabilities." The last thing the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Federal Drug and Food Commission (FDA) care to admit is that these increases are being driven by the rising tide of chemical poisons entering peoples' blood streams.

- - -

The FDA has failed completely in its mission of protecting the public and has allowed without resistance thousands of harmful chemicals to flood the environment and contaminate our foods, even approving the poisoning of the public water supply with chemicals like fluoride and chloramines.[1] The CDC does not want the public to understand that it is a part of a paradigm and industry that is actively using poisons (drugs) at high enough doses to kill people. The toxicology and pharmacology of pharmaceutical drugs (and vaccines) in reality go beyond what is considered low level toxicity. Pharmaceutical drugs directly kill hundreds of thousands of people a year around the world because of their poisonous characteristics.[2] The western medical establishment has no choice but to pretend and sell the public on the fantasy that drugs and vaccines are safe when they are not.

A Harvard thesis has shown a connection between water fluoridation and a 700% increase in osteosarcoma in young men if they are exposed to fluoridated water during their 6th to 8th years.[3]

Dr. Paul Connett

Finally the scientific community is responding to the alarming rise in disease and is intensely scrutinizing the prevalence in the environment of certain industrial chemicals that are showing up in just about everyone’s blood streams. The Wall Street Journal continued, “A growing body of animal research suggests to some scientists that even minute traces of some chemicals, always assumed to be biologically insignificant, can affect such processes as gene activation and the brain development of newborns. An especially striking finding: It appears that some substances may have effects at the very lowest exposures that are absent at higher levels. Some scientists, many of them in industry, dismiss such concerns. But the new science of low-dose exposure is challenging centuries of accepted wisdom about toxic substances and rattling the foundation of environmental law.”

Extremely low levels of phthalates[4], which are used in toys, building materials, drug capsules, cosmetics and perfumes, have been statistically linked to sperm damage in men and genital changes, asthma and allergies in children.[5]

The greatest problem facing modern civilization is the massive poisoning that is occurring as industry continues to produce hundreds of millions of tons of chemicals a year and as dentists and doctors continue to put people in harm's way by exposing their patients to toxic substances. That problem is compounded by highly placed medical officials and doctors who are deliberately preventing us from realizing the truly massive threat and harm being done. Studies of animals, and in some cases people, suggest that most of the compounds that are showing up in childrens' and adults' blood can affect the brain, hormones, reproductive system or the immune system, or that they are linked to cancer.

<em>Minuscule doses of bisphenol A, which is used in polycarbonate plastic baby bottles and in resins that line food cans are endocrine disruptors[6] and have been found to alter brain structure, neurochemistry, behavior, reproduction and immune response in animals.[7]

Researchers at Tuffs University School of Medicine have already found that pregnant lab animals exposed to very low levels of bisphenol A produced offspring with impaired mammary-gland development. The exposure levels in the study at Tuffs were 2,000 times lower than the Environment Protection Agency's safe dose for the chemical.[8] We have to learn about the ill health effects from these industrial chemicals quickly because they are being produced in vast quantities worldwide.

Unbelievable as it seems there are doctors working hard to make sure that we remain passive in front of the chemical avalanches falling all around us. They would have us poisoned while blindsiding us with: “It’s the dose, not the detection that makes the poison.” Dr. Charles A. McKay Jr., Dr. Michael G. Holland and Dr. Lewis S. Nelson would deny patients appropriate treatment for chemical toxicity and belittle their fellow physicians saying, “unscrupulous medical practitioners are ordering heavy metal tests to ‘prove’ to patients the need for chelation or other unnecessary, and potentially dangerous, treatments." These doctors go on to say that “A large portion of our toxicology clinic population is convinced their symptoms are due to poisoning, when neither their symptom complex nor laboratory testing justify such a conclusion.”[9]

Scientists have found that with some chemicals, traces as minute as mere parts per trillion have biological effects.

It is pathetic to see these doctors mocking other doctors about the toxic loads in patients when the Centers for Disease Control itself reports that chemicals such as cadmium, mercury and insecticides were found in the bodies of test subjects at levels that could be causing health problems.[10] Or when someone like Dr. Jerome A. Paulson, an associate professor of pediatrics at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, who specializes in children's environmental health says, "We have fouled our own nest. We contaminated the environment sufficiently that there are measurable amounts of potentially toxic substances in people — kids and adults." The CDC reported recently that most American children and adults were carrying in their bodies dozens of pesticides and toxic compounds used in consumer products, many of them linked to potential health threats and we have doctors mocking others for testing and the appropriate treatment of such conditions. Putting all the latest information together it is easy to see that it would actually be the rare person whose body remained un-poisoned, untainted, unaffected from the chemical rape that most of us are being subjected to - yet official mainstream medicine’s only answer is to increase toxic exposure with more toxic medicine and vaccines.

Autism is upon us because it’s the outcome of the 50-year experiment of dousing every living being with an overload of toxic substances, including vaccines.

Dr Gregory Ellis

It’s not difficult to imagine what has led Doctors McKay, Holland and Nelson to discount the large scale poisoning and the long list of chemicals that are inter penetrating everyone today. These doctors have a 1500’s Swiss doctor named Paracelsus on their brains, a primitive doctor who advocated the use of metals, such as mercury and antimony for medical treatment. Paracelsus was the first to say, “It depends only upon the dose whether a poison is a poison or not. A lot kills - a little cures.” McKay, Holland and Nelson are thinking that chemical pollution and chemical drugs and mercury still used in medicine and dentistry, and the tons of mercury being poured into the atmosphere and the billions pounds of pesticides used every year and even the mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde pumped into babies bodies with vaccines does not qualify as a high enough dose to be alarmed about. Modern science challenges this axiom of toxicology of Dr. Paracelsus of 500 years ago yet it is conditioned so deeply into medical officials’ brains that they cannot see that they are legally condoning the poisoning of the public.

There is no safe blood lead level in children.

Dr. Jim Pirkle (CDC)[11]

A parallel reason for casting down Paracelsus and his followers was provided by the National Academy of Sciences in July, which stated that the preponderance of scientific evidence shows that even very low doses of radiation pose a risk of cancer or other health problems and there is no threshold below which exposure can be viewed as harmless. This is critical and addresses radiation amounts commonly used in medical treatment. The committee gave support to the so-called “linear, no threshold” model that is currently the generally acceptable approach to radiation risk assessment. This approach assumes that the health risks from radiation exposure declines as the dose levels decline, but that each unit of radiation — no matter how small — still is assumed to cause cancer. That means your dental and chest X-Rays are dangerous and the CT Scans are 100 times more dangerous, and it means that Oncologists use treatments that cause cancer to treat cancer when they use radiation treatments. The vaccinationists do the same thing. They use treatments that cause death and disease to prevent disease. They hide behind the bizarre medical assumption that “the dose makes the poison.” The CDC, IOM, FDA, APA, the AMA and many other organizations are living in a fantasy world based on an ancient theory that is being disproved every day by scientist researching into the toxicities of chemicals.

A chemical used in munitions, called perchlorate[12], is known to inhibit production of thyroid hormone[13], which children need for brain development. The chemical has been detected in drinking water supplies in at least 25 states, as well as in fruits, vegetables and breast milk in mothers across the country.[14]

This is the tragic mistake of medicine and the greatest failing of our civilization that Dr. Boyd Haley has been talking about for many years. Medicine has endorsed wide scale poisoning whether through industrial pollution, poisoning of the water supplies, food supplies with pesticides, hormones, and preservatives, and through highly toxic drugs and vaccines. All have finally combined to destroy any possibility about using poisons in medically appropriate doses because each toxic chemical is administered and layered on top of preexisting exposures. And it is anyone’s guess how the hundreds of chemicals in the blood and cells mix with new toxic medical treatments so all bets are off and medicine must change its paradigm. To not do so today is criminal.

The weed killer atrazine affects the levels of a number of hormones needed for normal development and function of the reproductive system, including estrogen, prolactin, luteinizing hormone, and follicle stimulating hormone. [15] Atrazine has been linked to sexual malformations in frogs that were exposed to water containing just 1/30th as much atrazine as the EPA regards as safe in human drinking water.[16]

Mercury offers the clearest picture of the chemical madness that has overtaken industry, medicine and dentistry for it is the most well researched toxin in the environment. It is also the most toxic non-radioactive element, which is poisonous on a cellular level at any level like radiation is. Yet despite the clear science that affirms these statements we see the World Health Organization playing games with peoples heads saying, “The risk from side effects of thimerosal is theoretical, uncertain and, at most, extremely small.” Dr. David Baskin at the department of Neurosurgery at Baylor College of Medicine demonstrated that “thimerosal in micromolar concentrations rapidly induce membrane and DNA damage, and initiate caspase-3 dependent apoptosis in human neurons and fibroblasts.” In their studies cells were incubated with 125nM – 250uM concentrations of thimerosal and they reported that thimerosal is toxic if applied in micromolar concentrations from 1uM to 250uM.[17] Dr. J. Curtis Pendergrass and Dr. Boyd Haley confirm this stating, “Pure thimerosal was toxic at the low nanomolar level – an extremely low concentration, about 10,000 times less than the thimerosal concentration found in most vaccines. These results leave little doubt about thimerosal being the toxic agent in the vaccines.”[18]

For certain doctors and health care officials the cancer rates, heart disease, increases in asthma, diabetes, autism, serious neurological diseases and the broad depth of learning disabilities has not reached proportions to be alarmed about yet. For them the doses are still minimal and the detection/statistics irrelevant. When the dose would become poisonous enough to be worried about remains abstract if we use doctors like McKay, Holland and Nelson’s assumptions about toxicity dangers as a guide. Certainly we should expect more from Associate Professors of Emergency Medicine, Associate Medical Directors, Assistant Professors of Emergency Medicine, and Assistant Professors of Surgery, which these doctors are.

When it comes to underestimating the poisonous properties of chemicals these doctors are among a huge crowd. Representatives of the Chemical and pesticide industries, along with the CDC itself would like us to feel that discovery of the chemicals in the human body do not mean they posed a threat to human health. “Exposure to these man-made and natural substances is extremely low," said American Chemistry Council spokesman Chris VandenHeuvel. The CDC's director Dr. Gerberding said that "for the vast majority" of the 148 chemicals in the report, "we have no evidence of health effects." When we hear Gerberding make such statements can we feel secure and go to sleep at night secure that our children are safe? All the evidence is screaming a loud no and it seems that Dr Gerberding is either being misled by her staff or is consciously misleading the public and abusing her power as the head of the CDC.

Chemical toxicity and poisoning is a medical problem that is easy for medical officials to downplay because it takes so long to develop. Even potent poisons like mercury accumulate slowly in the human body throughout life. Mercury can cause Minamata disease when it reaches a critical level, and it can cause deformities in an unborn fetus at much lower concentrations. In the case of the famous mercury tragedy in Japan the first case of the disease was only observed 24 years after a factory began dumping mercury into the Minamata Bay.

We no longer need to test every person to ‘prove’ the general need for people to detoxify. Any toxicologist and doctor worth their salt would be assuming 180 degrees in opposition to doctors like McKay, Holland and Nelson. They would be encouraging their patients to assume that a great part of the etiology of their complaints and serious diseases are due to poisoning, even when laboratory testing does not strongly verify such a conclusion. The chemicals are there in the environment and in everyone’s bodies, no one is immune as recent tests are showing.

What if it turns out some common substances have essentially no safe exposure levels at all? That was ultimately what the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency concluded about lead after studying its effects on children for decades. Indications that some other chemicals may have no safe limits have led regulators in Europe and Japan to bar the use of certain compounds in toys and in objects used to serve food.

There is no safe level of mercury, and no one has actually shown that there is a safe level.

Dr. Lars Friberg

Chief Adviser to the WHO on mercury safety

It is known that levels as low as 0.03 micrograms/m3 may affect your health when the exposure is not only transient. Paints, which contained mercury, had to be taken off the market after releasing only 2-3 micrograms/m3. Because of the extreme toxicity of mercury, the U.S. EPA drinking water standard for mercury is 2 parts per billion, which allows for not over 4 micrograms per day mercury exposure for an average adult. Four micrograms is 12 thousand trillion atoms of mercury and this is only one chemical. It is now impossible to view chemical toxicity in isolation and it is a well known law of toxicology that trace chemicals have greater effects in combination than singly. Traditional toxicology, which tests things individually, is now obsolete because there are no clinical situations where any chemical substance stands alone...

The human body is complex, and effects seen in tests on small laboratory animals and in human cells don't necessarily mean health risks to people.

Medical officials will find any excuse (like the one above) to delay the day of reckoning. Many of them would have us believe that our understanding of the dangers of exposure to low doses of chemicals is still developing and thus we should study the subject more thoroughly. Others more honest and less bound by conflicts of interest simply move to ban chemicals like fluoride and thimerosal when it is obvious that they are hurting people. Russia outlawed the use of Thimerosal 20 years ago, veterinarians also spare their beloved animals from the effects of that poison. Most of Europe and many townships in the United States have completely rejected the fluoridation of water. Why? Because fluoride is a poison and thus you see warnings to keep even toothpaste out of the reach of children.

"The question is what do we do about these low levels once we know they're there," says Steve Hentges of the American Plastics Council, a trade association. What we are going to do to stop the poisoning of our world and populations is a huge question that we are all going to have to struggle with. Medical doctors and scientists who understand the severity of the situation know that all people need to detoxify the chemical poisons that have found their way into their bodies and would suggest treatments to that effect. The medical establishment and the pharmaceutical companies, on the other hand, would have us continue the chemical onslaught and even add to the problem by making sure medical treatments increase the body’s chemical burden instead of reducing it.

When it was added to the San Francisco water supply it nearly had the same effect on some humans. “I almost died,” Denise Kula Johnson of Menlo Park said the day after chloramines were added to her water supply. “I was in the shower and suddenly I could not breathe. I passed out on the floor. I was terrified.” According to Dr. Winn Parker the most at-risk groups from chloraminated water are: the fetus in the first trimester, children to age three, people over age 60 and those with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

I am really surprised that Medical News Today published the puff piece from the American Dental Association about their celebration of 60 years of fluoridation, but missed the real news from last week. This was the revelation carried by the Washington Post and the Associated Press (July 13, 2005) that a Harvard thesis has shown a connection between water fluoridation and a 700% increase in osteosarcoma in young men if they are exposed to fluoridated water during their 6th to 8th years. Particularly disturbing is the information that the thesis adviser, Porfessor Cheser Douglass, who is also a consultant to Colgate, has covered up these results in talks to the public and in a report to his funding agency. Both the NIEHS and Harvard University are investigating his conduct.

Phthalates are chemicals used to make plastics flexible and they have been implicated in causing premature breast development in girls, which is a condition called thelarche. There has been an epidemic of thelarche on the island of Puerto Rico for the last two decades where affected girls begin breast development between the ages of 6 and 24 months. Researchers have finally concluded that the cause is phthalates. There is some indication that phthalates may also affect thyroid function.

four possible ways:

1) mimic or partly mimic the sex steroid hormones estrogens and androgens (the male sexhormone) by binding to hormone receptors or influencing cell signaling pathways. Those that act like estrogen are called environmental estrogens.

2) block, prevent and alter hormonal binding to hormone receptors or influencing cell signaling pathways. Chemicals that block or antagonize hormones are labeled antiestrogens or anti-androgens.

3) affect the synthesis, transport, metabolism and excretion of hormones, thus altering the concentrations of natural hormones.

4) modify the making and function of hormone receptors.

[10] National reports on human exposure to environmental chemicals have been issued by the CDC every two years since 1999. For this year’s report, issued in July of 2005, CDC’s Environmental Health Laboratory measured 148 chemicals or their breakdown products in blood or urine. The samples for this report were collected from 2,400 people who participated in CDC's National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 1999 to 2002. NHANES is an ongoing national health survey of the general U.S. population. The report provides exposure data on the U.S. population by age, sex, and race or ethnicity.

I have had serious pain in my axillary and mastectomy site for l6 months - two months following a diagnostic angiogram for a "possible" kidney complication as a cause for my elevated blood pressure. The test was unremarkable. Radiation had to be aborted following my mastectomy l2 years ago due to what the doctors diagnosed as cellulitis and the incision opening. Since then, at no time had I been asked whether I've had a problem with radiation. Cumulative radiation doses had not entered my mind as I had complete confidence in my doctors. Bone density tests, ct scans, mammograms have been done as a "precautionary measure" It was only when I woke up with severe pain two months after my angiogram and was not able to find answers from my doctors that I began to research not only the cumulative risks from diagnostic imaging but was also stunned to learn how dangerous medical radiation for any procedure is. My diagnosis came from one doctor - a surgeon, who said I have a radiation induced neuropathy. He said it happens all the time and I'd have to live with it. No help. No prognosis. My GP is very rude when I mention the pain as well as feeling of nausea and chills. My neurologist wanted to do an EMG in the affected area which I could not allow! He also wanted to do a ct scan on my back regarding back pain that I've learned to live with...good grief!
I am basically on my own with some anti-seizure medication which helps very little.
I have no access to medical articles which may be of some help regarding other patients who've experienced this same nightmare - they are always blocked with a "may harm your files" warning. It appears that there is a battle raging between the medical establishment and the scientific community about the risks of not only radiation trauma, but also cancer and heart disease. In my opinion the mainstream media is afraid to touch this, however I cannot think of a more important topic that needs to be aired and discussed. The last time I looked this was a free country....but I'm beginning to wonder.
