Subject: Senator Biden, More damning information on Rumsfeld you may not know

Dear Senator Biden:

The news talks about you asking Donald Rumsfeld to step down which has to do with the Iraq situation.

I would like to call your attention to when Donald Rumsfeld was CEO of Searle, manufacturers of aspartame. For 16 years the FDA refused to approve it, not only because its not safe but because they wanted the company indicted for fraud. Both U.S. Prosecutors hired on with the defense team and the statute of limitations expired. They were Sam Skinner and William Conlon. Skinner went on to become Secretary of Transportation squelching the cries of the pilots who were now having seizures on this seizure triggering drug, aspartame, and then Chief of Staff under President Bush's father. Some of these people reach high places. Even Supreme Justice Clarence Thomas is a former Monsanto attorney. (Monsanto bought Searle in l985, and sold it a few years ago). When Ashcroft became Attorney General, Thompson from King and Spalding Attorneys (another former Monsanto attorney) became deputy under Ashcroft. (Attorneys for NutraSweet and Coke).

The ads are all over TV in the USA, and on the web. Take Zoloft, the ads tell us, and you'll be as happy as a little bouncing ball. Over and over the ads are repeated, telling millions of Americans that "Zoloft is a medicine that helps correct the chemical imbalance of serotonin in the brain."

Robert Roos  Staff Writer
Source: CIDRAP

May 6, 2004 (CIDRAP News) – Almost 5 years ago, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the US Public Health Service joined in calling for removal of the mercury-containing preservative thimerosal from vaccines. By 2001, all the vaccines recommended for children under age 7 were available without thimerosal or with only trace amounts.

Big Pharma
ELI LILLY, ZYPREXA & THE BUSH FAMILY
The diseasing of our malaise

By Bruce Levine

More than one journalist has uncovered corrupt connections between the Bush Family, psychiatry, and Eli Lilly & Company, the giant pharmaceutical corporation. While previous Lillygates have been more colorful, Lilly’s soaking state Medicaid programs with Zyprexa—its blockbuster, antipsychotic drug—may pack the greatest financial wallop. Worldwide in 2003, Zyprexa grossed $4.28 billion, accounting for slightly more than one-third of Lilly’s total sales. In the United States in 2003, Zyprexa grossed $2.63 billion, 70 percent of that attributable to government agencies, mostly Medicaid.

Fluoride: the debate goes on
Two Calgary experts challenge conventional wisdoms of fluoridated water

James Beck and Robert Dickson
For the Calgary Herald
May 1, 2004

Consider this. If we as physicians were to prescribe to patients we know nothing about, a medically active, unproven drug at uncontrolled dosage and tell them to take as much as they want for the rest of their lives while not monitoring the side effects, how long would we be practising medicine before our licences were revoked? The answer, of course, is not for very long.

Libya has sentenced six Bulgarian medics and a Palestinian doctor to death by firing squad for deliberately infecting some 400 children with HIV.

CDC's unspoken acceptance of vaccine additive raises furor
By Sandy Kleffman

Federal officials have added the flu vaccine to the routine immunization schedule for children, but will remain silent about whether parents should request a mercury-free version of the shot.

Critics blasted last week's decision, particularly in light of government warnings about other types of mercury exposure.

U.S. medical system creates errors
United Press International
By PEGGY PECK, United Press International
Tuesday, May 4, 2004
Source: MedlinePlus

PHILADELPHIA, May 04, 2004 (United Press International via COMTEX) -- American doctors write about 3.5 billion prescriptions every year and new research suggests nearly one in every 100 of those prescriptions is wrong -- the wrong drug, the wrong dose or the wrong patient.

Of 28 million erroneous prescriptions written annually in the United States, most contain minor errors that do not hurt patients. But about 21 percent -- nearly 6 million -- contain "serious errors," according to Dr. Lucien Leape, an adjunct professor of health policy at the Harvard School of Public Health in Cambridge, Mass., who is considered the world's leading expert on medical errors.
