Cloned Meat: The Hidden Agenda

Who is pushing to legalize cloned meat? Follow the money -- and there are strong connections to human genetic engineering.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA)'s draft risk assessment leans heavily on the work of animal-cloning companies Cyagra and ViaGen. Over a quarter of the 700-page draft is a data dump from those two -- a fact that the New York Times failed to mention, even when quoting the president of ViaGen saying "I think that this draft is going to provide the industry the comfort it needs."

NEWS RELEASE
Release: No. TB-93
Dec. 12, 2006
For Immediate Release

Hilo, HI --The State of Hawaii has charged a straight "A" student and varsity athlete with "truancy" after forcing her indefinite quarantine for demanding a religious exemption to the TB skin test.

The complaint, filed in the Third Circuit Court by Hilo High School Principal Robert Dircks, proves how "out of control" the Department of Education is under the health department and attorney general's misdirection and embarrassing administration, according to the former student's father, Dr. Leonard Horowitz.

Alena Horowitz, a 14 year-old freshman, was expelled from school on Sept. 1, 2006 and prohibited from returning by Dircks and health officials who claim state laws requiring them to provide religious exemptions for vaccinations do not apply to TB tine tests.

"The law of nature, all men are born free, every one comes into the world with a right to his own person, which includes the liberty of moving and using it at his own will. This is what is called personal liberty, and is given him by the Author of nature, because necessary for his own sustenance." --Thomas Jefferson: Legal Argument, 1770. FE 1:376

The fat and calories in ice cream have many of us doing without the double dips, but scientists are looking to a little-known fish to pull your diet out of the deep freeze.

You may have seen it on store shelves: new low-fat ice cream with all the flavor of the real stuff.

But a University of Cincinnati researcher says to stay away from the sweet treat- that flavor may bring with it some unintended consequences.

Dangers of Aspartame and diet Pop

This article on Aspartame in your diet says that the 1976 Grolier Encyclopedia states cancer cannot live with phenylalanine. Aspartame is 50% phenylalanine.

Are you sick and don't know it?
There are 92 documented symptoms of ASPARTAME, from coma to death. The majority of them are all neurological, because the ASPARTAME destroys the nervous system. ASPARTAME Disease is partially the cause to what is behind some of the mystery of the Dessert Storm health problems some of the soldiers are experiencing. The burning tongue and other problems discussed in over 60 cases can be directly related to the consumption of an ASPARTAME product. Several thousand pallets of diet pop were shipped to the Dessert Storm troops. (Heat can liberate the methanol from the ASPARTAME at 86 degrees F). Diet pop sat in the 120 degree F. Arabian sun for weeks at a time on pallets. The service men and women drank this diet pop all day long. All of their symptoms are identical to ASPARTAME poisoning.

Deadly Dangers May Be Lurking In Your Nearest Pill Bottle

Russian Roulette – it’s a rather innocent sounding term for a high stakes game with deadly consequences. First, you take a six-shot revolver and load one bullet into an empty chamber. Next, you cock the pistol, put it up to your head, and pull the trigger hoping that all you hear is a click instead of a bang. Your bang odds are one chance out of six, but if you keep playing this insane game long enough, you will eventually find that lonesome bullet.

That’s what got me thinking about a similar dead end game being played every day by millions of people taking prescription medication. Let’s call this one “Pharmaceutical Roulette,” only in this high-stakes game the potential killer isn’t a bullet, but a pharmaceutical drug lurking in your nearest pill bottle. Every year in America thousands of people die from pharmaceutical related side effects. Can you imagine the different perspective our society would have on this medical nightmare if these deaths were listed as casualties of war?

Banning Aspartame:
A Common Sense Precaution

When many of my constituents hear that I plan to introduce a bill to ban the artificial sweetener aspartame in the upcoming legislative session, I get a lot of very strange looks. Or worse.

The American Diabetes Foundation, for example, considers aspartame almost sacramental for persons with the disease they battle, one that makes consumption of sugar very dangerous. To hear their lobbyists tell it, aspartame is the modern scientific equivalent of Lourdes water for diabetics: If you take away my soft drinks with aspartame, what am I supposed to drink, then, huh? (On each occasion that sentiment is expressed to me, I have to bite my tongue not to gently, but sarcastically, suggest cold water, unsugared ice tea or skim milk - all perfectly drinkable alternatives, but not acceptable solutions for carbonation-crazed Coke or Pepsi devotees.)

Washington, DC: In hindsight, its now more than apparent that Daniel Troy, who fought against stricter prescription drug laws in private practice, was appointed Chief Counsel at the FDA for one reason, to serve as Godfather in setting up a protection racket for Big Pharma.

On August 20, 2001, when President Bush made him Chief Counsel, Mr Troy became the first political appointee to ever hold that post. After he completed his dirty work of installing the policy of preemption in record time, he went back into private practice to reap the financial rewards of the protection racket by once again working directly for Big Pharma, and throwing all conflict of interest rules to the wind.

And furthermore, he obviously could care less about who knows it.

The Spine as Profit Center

The New York Times

Kickbacks in American medicine have become commonplace. The evidence of wide spread corrupt practices is truly staggering. While deceptive drug marketing practices have been the major focus of AHRP Infomails, medical devices are even more prone to the proliferation of charlatans who exploit their state medical license to profiteer. Millions of Americans undergo unnecessary surgical procedures at the recommendation of surgeons who do it for the money.

"This is an area that is new and growing," according to Vicki L. Robinson, a senior attorney in the Federal Office of Inspector General who wrote a letter to a device industry trade group that the "ventures should be closely scrutinized under the fraud and abuse laws." The New York Times reports about the spinal-fusion industry that has generated billions of dollars for hospitals and doctors without a benefit for patients suffering from back pain.
