Swine flu jab linked to rare nerve disease

Health watchdogs have admitted for the first time that there may be a possible link between the swine flu jab and an increased risk of developing a rare nerve disease.

By Richard Alleyne, Science Correspondent DailyTelegraph

Experts are carrying out studies to examine a possible association between the vaccine and Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a condition which attacks the nervous system and can cause paralysis and even death.

The authorities have always denied any link although it had been suggested a previous swine flu vaccine had caused cases of the disease in America in the 1970s.

The following is an excerpt from The Pot Book edited by Julie Holland, M.D. (Park Street Press, 2010)

Julie Holland: Can we start with the catnip story?

Michael Pollan: I always kept a little patch of catnip in my garden for my old tomcat, Frank, who really liked it. It's not a very difficult plant to grow. The patch was hard to miss, because it was so shrubby. But every evening around five or six o'clock, just around the time that I was going to the garden to harvest something for dinner, Frank would come down there and look at me. What he wanted to know was where that catnip was, because he managed to forget every single night. And I would point it out to him or sometimes bring him over to it, and then he would pull some leaves off, sniff them, eat them, and start rolling in the grass. He was clearly having a powerful drug experience. Then he would sneak away and sleep it off somewhere.

For OpEdNews: Martha Rosenberg - Writer

The suicide rate among troops is astonishing.

In 2009 there were 160 active duty suicides, 239 suicides within the total Army including the Reserves, 146 active duty deaths from drug overdoses and high risk behavior and 1,713 suicide attempts, says the Army's suicide report, released in July.

Not only are more troops dying from their own hand than combat says the Army report, titled Health Promotion, Risk Reduction, Suicide Prevention, 36 percent of the suicides were troops who were never deployed.

Also astonishing is the psychoactive drug rate among active duty-aged troops, 18 to 34, which is up 85 percent since 2003 according to the military health plan, Tricare. Since 2001, 73,103 prescriptions for Zoloft have been dispensed, 38,199 for Prozac, 17,830 for Paxil and 12,047 for Cymbalta says Tricare 2009 data, which includes family prescriptions. All of the drugs carry a suicide warning label.

Consumers, Parents, Health Advocates, Farm Workers and Others Target
Widely Used Pesticides Linked to Attention and Learning Problems

YAKIMA, Wash. - October 13 - 13,000 individuals and organizations from across the U.S. sent a letter to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today calling for a ban on the pesticide chlorpyrifos and a phase out of other organophosphate (OP) pesticides.

Dr. Theo Colborn's organization TEDX (The Endocrine Disruption Exchange) concurrently announced the addition of chlorpyrifos to their publicly-accessible on-line database, Critical Windows of Development, spotlighting animal research that links prenatal, low dose chlorpyrifos exposure to altered health outcomes in the brain and other organs (http://www.endocrinedisruption.com/prenatal.criticalwindows.overview.php)

Treat tinnitus with pine bark

| | Comments (0)

Natural News

by Ethan A. Huff, staff writer

(NaturalNews) A new study out of Chieti-Pescara University in Italy has found that extract from the bark of French maritime pine trees is effective at treating tinnitus, a hearing condition that can cause severe ringing, hissing, and rushing noises. Research indicates that pine bark extract, which is rich in antioxidants, helps to improve blood flow to the ear and thus eliminate tinnitus symptoms.

"Impaired blood flow to the ear is a common cause for tinnitus, a disturbing and very debilitating condition that can considerably impact overall health and quality of life," explained Dr. Gianni Belcaro, lead researcher of the study. "With few options available for treatment, this study gave us the opportunity to explore a natural solution to tinnitus symptoms and its causes."

Pesticides produced by genetically modified (GM) corn have been found dissolved in streams in Indiana, raising new questions about whether GM foods could have impacts beyond immediate food safety, a new study reports.

Jennifer Tank of Indiana's University of Notre Dame and colleagues sampled 217 streams in a 400-square-mile (1,053-square-kilometer) area in northwestern Indiana, six months after the corn harvest. Of those streams, 28 had corn "detritus" (that would be husks, cobs, leaves, and so on for those playing along at home) containing the Cry1Ab protein, which is produced by so-called GM "Bt corn" to ward off the European corn borer, an invasive pest.

The following scientific experiments are considered sick, unethical or just plain sadistic by today's standards:

* scientific experiment1939 ‘Monster Study,’ which involved berating and ridiculing children.

* World War II Porton Down Experiments, during which military servicemen were exposed to toxic nerve agents.

* Program F, which involved saturating public drinking water supplies in Newburgh, New York with high levels of fluoride for 12 years.

* 1971 Stanford Prison Experiment, a “mock” study of volunteer prisoners and inmates carried out in the basement of Stanford University that caused lasting psychological trauma to many study participants.

Banned in Europe for Causing 83,000 Heart Attacks - Are You Taking it?

diabetes-drug.jpg

A September 23, 2010 article in the New England Journal of Medicine announced that, finally, the FDA has stepped forward and decided on regulatory action for Avandia, a diabetes drug that last year claimed 1,354 lives as a result of cardiac-associated problems.

The FDA is restricting access to Avandia by requiring GSK to submit a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy, or REMS.

Under the ruling, the drug will be available to patients not already taking it only if they are unable to achieve glycemic control using other medications and, in consultation with their health care professional, decide not to take a different drug for medical reasons.

Vitamin C Saves Life of Man Dying of Viral Pneumonia,

The Allan Smith Story, a TV Documentary from New Zealand

by Jeffrey Dach MD, For Original Article: Click Here

Allan Smith, a New Zealand Dairy farmer, contracted Swine Flu while away on vacation in Fiji. When he returned home, the flu quickly evolved into severe pneumonia which left him in a coma on Life Support in the Intensive Care Unit. Chest Xrays showed the lungs were completely filled with fluid with an "opaque" appearance called "white out". After three weeks of this, Allan's doctors asked the family permission to turn off the machines and let him die. Allan's wife Sonia had a brother with some medical knowledge, so he stepped in and said, "you haven't tried everything, You have got to try high dose IV vitamin C on Allan". At first, the doctors resisted, saying it was useless. Next, the three sons weighed in with a persuasive argument to try the IV vitamin C, saying there was nothing to lose.

Fluoride Action Network PR Newswire
Press Release
October 7, 2010

A new study confirms infants fed formula reconstituted with fluoridated water are at greater risk of developing discolored teeth (dental fluorosis). (1) The American Dental Association (ADA) warned dentists about this in 2006 but has done little or nothing to inform the nearly 200 million Americans who live in communities with fluoridated drinking water.

The study by Levy et al., a Journal of the American Dental Association cover story (October 2010), confirms Levy's earlier studies, which show "[F]luoride intakes during each of the first 4 years were individually significantly related to fluorosis on maxillary central incisors, with the first year most important," and that "[I]nfant formulas reconstituted with higher fluoride water can provide 100 to 200 times more fluoride than breastmilk, or cow's milk." (2, 3)

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 32% of American children have dental fluorosis, an increase of 23% from the 1980s. (4) Black and Hispanic populations have even higher rates. Dental fluorosis is a visible sign that a child was overexposed to fluoride. Pictures of fluorosis: http://www.fluoridealert.org/health/teeth/fluorosis/moderate-severe.html
